In Breema, we say actual change begins with a change in our level of being. Although this may seem complicated, it is actually very simple. However, it requires something of us which we do not do because we have not received proper support or guidance. This is precisely what prevents change. As long as our level of being remains untouched, nothing changes.
Breema addresses change and raising our level of being in a straightforward and practical way called body-mind connection. When the attention of the mind registers the activity of the body, we experience a tangible shift in our level of being. We become familiar with a new mind, our mind, a mind that functions non-descriptively and with inner attention. We are introduced to the existence of the body via breath and weight, a unique and distinct experience unconditioned by the sensation-based body with which we are unconsciously identified. This experience generates a form of knowledge which we call the taste of being present. It forms the foundation for a new level of consciousness and awakens our potential for actual change.
Using Breema’s Nine Principles of Harmony as a framework for study, this class presents an introduction to Breema’s practical philosophy of purposeful living.
